PRICING EXPECTATIONS
Many people ask about our pricing, especially the cost per square foot for a new custom home. This is hard to give a simple number for because Strong Builders LLC builds fully custom homes. You choose everything—from flooring and cabinets to doors and faucets. So, the cost depends on your choices. We work with the budget you provide to design your home within that amount. We've built homes costing over $300 + per square foot and others around $150 + per square foot. The final price depends on many factors.
The lot details really matter when it comes to building your custom home. Is the lot wooded or flat? Do you prefer a basement, crawl space, or slab foundation? Basements tend to cost the most due to excavation and waterproofing needs. Preparing a clear, flat lot with easy access might cost around $10,000 or even less. On the other hand, a steep, heavily wooded lot can easily exceed $50,000 to prepare.
Consider how much land needs clearing—is it just small brush, or are there large, mature trees that require removal?
Foundation height also plays a role: crawl spaces taller than 48 inches generally cost more, and basements cost even more than crawl spaces. Slab foundations are the most affordable but require a very flat, stable lot to be feasible.
Your selections for siding, windows, decking, railings, floors, cabinets, countertops, trim, doors, tile, faucets, lighting, and appliances also influence the overall cost. For example, black window frames usually cost more than white ones; double-hung windows are pricier than single-hung, and aluminum-clad windows cost more than vinyl alternatives.
To summarize, the pricing for each custom home is determined by many factors unique to the particular home and lot. No two homes have exactly the same price per square foot. On average, our homes range from about $150+ to $225+ per square foot, depending on these variables. We maintain complete transparency with our clients—you will receive detailed quotes for every item, from our vendors along with the invoices from each vendor showing the actual costs. This way, you don’t have to simply trust our word; you have access to all the documentation to understand exactly where every dollar goes. As for renovation jobs those must be quote after a site visit and details discussed in person on site. We cannot provide a preliminary budget for renovation projects.
